- Save the Ducks

During the course of the show, the Ducks have come up with some pretty clever ways of poking fun at teams that make up the unanimated NHL. Below is a list of episodes in which this has occurred, explaining which team is involved, and how you too can be in on the joke. Have fun!
The Opening Sequence
Tampa Bay Lightning- Look at the logo on the jersey of the player
that Duke steals the puck from. It's a streak of lightning on a blue
triangle. This is exactly like Tampa Bay's logo, save that it's a lightning
bolt over a black circle.
Montreal Canadians- Look at the logo of the goalie that Nosedive
scores against. It looks like a hockey stick and an open clam, which
resembles the 'C' shape of Montreal's logo. Also can be seen during The
First Face Off part 1.
Mad Quacks from Beyond the
Hockeydome
Toronto Maple Leafs- Referred to in the show as the Toronto Maple
Syrups. Look for the player that has the penalty called on him when he holds
Duke at the end of the show. While the colors may not match the NHL's
Toronto Leafs, the logos are exactly the same.
Power Play
San Jose Sharks- When the announcer is describing Stanley Strazinski
and his rough play, look at the logos of the players he's beating up. One is
wearing a jersey with the crest of a cardinal biting a hockey stick in half.
This looks very much like San Jose's logo, except in their case the animal
is a shark.
Detroit Red Wings- In the same sequence as above, the logo on the
player looks like a cardinal's head, but is actually in the shape of a
reversed Red Wings logo. The feathers on the border of the head help
emphasize this.
Los Angeles Kings- Stanley Strazinski's team, the Polar Bears, has
the same colors and triangle-shaped logo of L.A., before they re-vamped
their uniforms after the show went into syndication. Look for it whenever
the team's players are on screen.
The Solar Bears- Actually an IHL team based near Anaheim. Stanley
Strazinski's team is the Polar Bears, which puts the resemblance right out
in the open.
Zap Attack
New Jersey Devils- This is a hard one to spot. The team the Ducks
play after chasing away Siege and Chameleon is the Hoboken Flamingos.
Hoboken is in New Jersey.
Microducks
Detroit Red Wings- When they Ducks play in the early part of the
episode, they face the Detroit Crankshafts. Not only is Detroit the hometown
of the Red Wings, but the Crankshaft logo has two wings on the sides, and
shares the same colors as the Red Wings team.
The First Face Off part 1
Montreal Canadians- When the episode starts, the Ducks are playing
against the Maine Quahogs, who have the logo of a hockey stick and an open
clam. This bears a striking resemblance to the logo of the Canadians. Can
also be seen during the show's opening sequence.
The Final Face Off
Dallas Stars- The team that the Ducks play in the Western Conference
finals are the Dallas Armadillos. This can be seen in the beginning and end
of the episode.
Vancouver Canucks- Seen in the same team as above. The colors on the
jerseys are red, yellow, and black, which were the colors of the Canucks
before they re-vamped their uniforms prior to the show going into
syndication.
Dungeons and Ducks
Vancouver Canucks- The team that plays against the Ducks in the first
segment of the episode is wearing the same old-fashioned Canucks colors
mentioned above.
Los Angeles Kings- The logo of this same team also has a crown on
top, just like the L.A. Kings logo.
Minnesota Northstars- This now defunct hockey team was mentioned as
the Minnesota Cheeselogs, and played the Ducks at the end of the episode.
The Most Dangerous Duck Hunt
Vancouver Canucks- During the beginning scene of the episode, the
Ducks play against a team called the Macaroons, who wear the former colors
of the Canucks.
